Belle Tout Lighthouse
Beachy Head, Eastbourne, East Sussex
Belle Tout needed a
website that lived up to huge expectations.
The website had to be attractive, informative,
easy to use and most importantly, would be found by
visitors on all of the major search engines,
worldwide.
Detailed historical research was
carried out to ensure that the
public were provided with a rich source of
information. The site is the the
foundation of what will become
an accurate and authoritive
information resource on Belle
Tout in years to
come.
Stylish photography was
essential to convey the right
image to guests. We wanted to
convey that this is not only a hotel with a
difference, but a high quality
establishment, which ensures
guests a very comfortable stay. Each room
was photographed, together with
landscape and architectural
photography from the exterior of
the building.
It was important that the
website achieved very high
search engine rankings, to ensure
that visitors could find it
easily. Consistently high search
engine rankings have been
achieved for all the major
search engines including Yahoo,
as above, also MSN, Bing and
Google.

"The
famous and iconic Belle Tout
Lighthouse at Beachy Head in
East Sussex stands in splendid
isolation on the delightful
South Downs overlooking the
English Channel. It's setting
has to be one of the most
beautiful in the country - if not the world.
In common with thousands of
others, I was intrigued by this
fascinating building and its
amazing history so when, in
2008, it came up for sale, I
bought it, albeit in a very
dilapidated condition. I have
since paid a 'kings ransom' to
have it restored, renovated and
sympathetically converted to
comfortably accommodate B & B
guests.
How could I publicise this
unique product and let the world
know it was now accessible to
those wanting the 'sleep in a
lighthouse experience'?
Knowing the
television programme series
'Build a new Life in the
Country' would be covering
the renovation of Belle Tout, it
was doubly important to create
and establish a web site that
could adequately cater for the
huge interest anticipated, and
subsequently realised, by that TV
programme and on-going
enquiries.
RAW-Systems rose to the
challenge magnificently,
producing a web site that is
both attractive and informative.
They arranged professional
photography and film, which shows
the accommodation and some of
the stunning views. They also
did much of the historical
research, which resulted in a
brilliant and much-praised web-site, of which I am very proud.

produced an exceptional web-site
of a standard by which others
